Major Kim Burbrink is currently assigned as the Commander of the Seventh Division.

Career

Burbink joined the former Louisville Division of Police (LPD) in 2002. She served as a patrol officer in the former Fifth and Sixth Districts of the LPD as well as the former Charlie District. She also served as a patrol officer and flex detective in the LMPD's Sixth Division. As a sergeant, she served in the Second Division and over the Narcotics Street Enforcement Platoon and Investigative Resources Unit in the Narcotics Division. As a lieutenant, she served in the LMPD’s Fourth Division and as an adjutant for the Support Bureau and Administrative Services Bureau.

She is a certified Kentucky Law Enforcement Council (KLEC) instructor and served on the Hostage Negotiations Team (HNT) for five (5) years.

Education

Major Burbrink holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Louisville and a Master of Science Degree in Justice Administration from the University of the Cumberlands. She is also a Dean’s List graduate of the Southern Police Institute’s (SPI) 132nd Administrative Officer’s Course at the University of Louisville.
