Major Micah Scheu


Major Micah Scheu is currently assigned as the Commander of the Third Division.

Career

In 1999, Scheu began his career in law enforcement with the former Jefferson County Police Department (JCPD). As a patrol officer, he served in the former Baker District (JCPD), which included the areas of Newburg, Norfolk, Highview and Fern Creek. Scheu then worked as a detective in both Arson and Video Forensic Analysis. After being promoted to Sergeant in 2006, he served in the First Division and the Professional Standards Unit. In 2010, he was promoted to Lieutenant and worked in the Second Division, Administrative Services, Inspections and Compliance and, most recently, as the Commander of the Traffic Unit.

In 2019, Scheu was promoted to Major.

Education

Major Scheu attended the University of Louisville where he received a Bachelor of Science in Justice Administration with a Minor in Sociology. He is currently finishing his Masters of Science in Justice Administration. He is a graduate of the 118th Session of the Southern Police Institute’s (SPI) Administrative Officer’s Course at the University of Louisville.

Personal Life

Major Scheu is married with two (2) children.
