Major Aubrey Gregory is currently the Commander of the Special Operations Division where he oversees the following units:
Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team
Hostage Negotiation Team (HNT)
River Patrol Unit
Mounted Patrol Unit
Special Response Team (SRT)
Dignitary Protection Team (DPT)
Hazardous Incident Response Team (HIRT)
The Peer Support Team (PST)
Major Gregory joined the former Louisville Division of Police (LPD) in 1999. He served as a patrol officer in the former Second District. He served as a detective in the Second Division. After being promoted to sergeant, Gregory served in the Fourth Division. Once he was promoted to lieutenant, he served as a sector and platoon lieutenant in the Second Division. His last assignment as a lieutenant was in Special Events. After being promoted to major, he served as the Commander of the Fifth Division.
Major Gregory has a Bachelor's Degree in Justice Administration and a Master's Degree in Justice Administration from the University of Louisville. He is also a graduate of the Southern Police Institute's (SPI) Officer's Course at the University of Louisville. He is a veteran of the United State Marine Corps.
He is married with three (3) children.
