Major Josh Hasch is currently assigned as the commander of the Major Crimes Division.
On October 21, 2002, Hasch began his career in law enforcement with the former Jefferson County Police Department (JCPD). As a patrol officer, he served in the former Baker District and the Second and Sixth Divisions. As a detective, he served in the Sixth Division Detective Office.
After being promoted to sergeant in 2011, Hasch served in the First Division and the Professional Standards Unit. In 2014, he was promoted to lieutenant and served in the Seventh Division, the Summer Task Force, the Commander of the Professional Standards Unit, an adjutant in the Patrol Bureau and the Canine Unit.
After being promoted to major, Hasch commanded the Third Division.
Hasch served on the Dignitary Protection Team (DPT) for eight (8) years as an officer and team leader. He is a recipient of one Meritorious Unit Citation and numerous letters of commendation.
Major Hasch is a graduate of Saint Xavier High School, a graduate of the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science in Justice Administration and a Master’s of Science in Justice Administration. He is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute Administrative Officers Course #133 and the KIIS Spanish Immersion Program.
