Patrolman Cosby Whitted Jr. was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle on Interstate 65 near the Crittenden Drive on-ramp around 3:55 pm.

Patrolman Whitted was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He had served on the department for two (2)  years. He is survived by his parents.
