Ricky A LaFollette

Narrative

Officer Ricky A. LaFollette drowned on August 18, 1983, while training with the Department Scuba Team.

Officer LaFollette was participating in a training exercise at Dale Hollow Lake. The dive was in total darkness, utilizing new underwater communications gear. Officer LaFollette failed to surface when his air supply was low and did not respond to radio communications. He was found later at a depth of 100 ft.

It is believed he went down in the darkness instead of up and drowned.

He is survived by his son and two (2) daughters.
