- Get to know your child’s friends and their parents
- Teach your child about the risks of gangs, the negative consequences of gang behavior and how to avoid them
- Talk with your children and hear out their concerns
- Get your child involved with positive supervised activities including sports programs, Boys & Girls Clubs, hobby clubs, etc.
- Create household rules, including curfews, and enforce them
- Place a high value on education and help your child succeed in school
- Be a good example to your children
- Report gang activity or graffiti in your area or neighborhood to 574-LMPD
